Herron, Bain, Gilmore and Beckwith - that's a pretty impressive line. I assume they'll be the starters in 2 years but we could still have Rasco and we'll still have QT, MJ and host of others. It would be awesome (and a quite a surprise) if we land Nkemdiche. However, Chavis is going to have a lot to work with just with the guys listed.

Pretty damn early to be predicting starters....patterson, neal, lacouture and company are ballers

I agree. I just looked at the guys that seem to have gotten the most pub - ESPN 300, etc. You can get down thinking of the guys we lost - three starters and 2 top backup DEs but we have a ton of young talent coming up.

I could see Neal at mlb also. Some superstars in this class.

I agree. I hope we land Nkemdiche and the two Cal safeties, but if I had to make a choice between landing Nkemdice or the two safeties, I'd probably take the 2 safeties given who we've got on the line. Let's hope we land them all

It would not shock me to see lacouture on o line or dt. Man, he's an underrated athlete. I'd personally would like to see a guy with a mean streak on the o line.

I can't remember what position Beckwith actually wanted to play. Was it LB or DE?

WDE:
Rasco - JR
J. Allen - JR
M. Patterson - Redshirt
L. Neal - Redshirt

LT:
Freak - JR
M. Johnson - SO
C. LaCouture - FR
T. Lawson - Redshirt

RT:
Ego - JR
Q. Thomas - SO
G. Gilmore - FR
M. Bain - Redshirt

SDE:
D. Hunter - SO
J. Maclin -JR
K. Beckwith - FR
F. Herron - FR

Of the juniors listed I think only Rasco and Freak have a shot of turning pro with Freak being almost a shoe in. If some of these freshmen develop next year, then in 2 years our line will be amazing.

Im going to bet Herron grows into a DT much like Brockers did. He killed it at the all star game at DT.

Just looking at the depth chart I posted, we have a lot of options.

Beckwith could stay at Linebacker and Herron stay at SDE. Or Beckwith at SDE and Herron at DT.

Another wildcard is LaCouture and where he ends up. He and Herron could end up switching or playing next to each other in trench.

The only real position I'm worried about is WDE. With Rasco having a chance to leave early and Allen's injury history, Patterson and Neal are going to need to step up sooner rather than later.

Lsu is one of the hardest schools to predict who will start on DL. We develop a lot of 3 stars into nfl players.

Nkemdice Has been actively recruiting for Ole Miss. Even at the all star game. I wish the Tigers would pull his visit. What is the point of having him visit?

if we had another 'Booger McFarland' we could go to a 3-4 and do quite nicely, though I doubt seriously that Chavis thinks that way. with our level of talent and the draft dynamic what it is...it will always be a rebuilding year. seaux it geauxs....bring it on.

get better.

I won't be surprised if they bump Herron up to 5 stars on rivals.
