Is levelized billing for energy a good way to go?

I like paying what I owe when I owe it. Plus, even if it charges you exactly what you owe, you are still taking out the negative stimulus of a bad bill that can make you take steps to reduce your consumption.

If the bill gets outrageous, I take steps to reduce it. If I pay the same every month, I won't know when I went wrong.

I use it. I have all of my static bills paid from one checking account (mortgage, utilities, insurance, vehicle, etc). A portion of my paycheck is direct deposited in that account and I never touch it since that is the only use for that account. Everything is paid automatically since these bills rarely vary. The remainder of my check goes to another account that pays variables bills (grocery, dining, gas, entertainment, etc).
