Miles interviewed with Michigan and freaking Arkansas. Point being, he has been looking to leave and despite this he still recruits at the elite level.

Saban flirts with the NFL nearly every off-season, whether or not official interviews take place seems to be a formality as the perception of him in the NFL still exists. Still an elite recruiter.

Ideally, BK stays at ND for the next 1-2 years, and then Martin or Diaco take over as the successor. Both > Strong. Diaco is the next Urban Meyer.

Ive been in Miami.

Eagles contacted Swarbrick about their interests in BK in Dec. Swarbrick tells Eagles they could not interview until after title game. Swarbrick awares BK of the Eagles interest. BK does interview, goes on vacation, and reportedly turns down their off to stay at ND.

BKs interest in the NFL is real, but I also believe he loves ND. I think in his mind the NFL job is a more cushy position (not having to deal with parents, recruiting, etc) which is why he is so intrigued.

Diaco has never been a head coach before. Very sharp football mind and great recruiter (Weis is both of those things, too), but a very odd fellow. There's a reason he struck out on every coaching search he was involved in this offseason, despite winning the Broyles. I'm not sure of his ability to run a program; there's so much more that goes into it than just possessing great football knowledge (I'm not saying he wouldn't be a great HC or able to run a program, I'd just rather see it elsewhere first like at Iowa or something). Martin was great in D-II. But D-I is a completely different animal, let alone Notre Dame. Again, doesn't mean he wouldn't be great. But we know Strong has had success both as a coordinator and now as a BCS (well, Big East...) head coach, and has ND connections. I'd probably rather see Louisville have one more top-notch season before jumping the gun, but I'd definitely have him near the top of the list. If Diaco and Martin go elsewhere and perform as HC's, then definitely. But I'd rather not hire from within unless those guys experience success leading programs elsewhere first.
