To be honest, the Xs and Os appear to come from Donny Guerinoni. While at LSU, Donny would do the majority of in game coaching while Trent appeared to be carrying on inter-coaching staff conversations during timeouts and the like. The player interaction was a source of curiosity that I never really understood. That said, it appeared to this observer that Donny was the main game manager.

TJ is not a bad x and o coach. His biggest problem at LSU was that he couldn't recruit his way out of a wet paper bag. His first year he had a legit NBA player in Thornton and a few other decent players and showed improvement and player development. Is his style of play exciting? not hardly. But that doesn't make him a bad coach.
In 4 years, he landed one....yes one highly touted player in Johny O. And Johny O is not a future lottery pick or anything, he's just a guy other name schools recruited. I don't care what kind of coach you are, if the other teams have guys on their bench that would start for your team, you're not gonna win many.

I'm only willing to give him average on the X and O front.
I think he's gonna do it the right way and demand his players do as well. That was what I liked about him here.
But the right way with average coaching and below average talent is not a winning formula. I can't see him getting your Frogs higher than NIT level.
