Coach should have been more cordial than that, unless ESPN was notified that he wasn't doing an interview ahead of time.
ESPN pays (for better or worse) for the rights to those interviews, which gets passed on to Stanford.
I understand he wants to celebrate, but is 45 seconds too much to ask?

For those that didn't see it live the Rose bowl officials were pulling him towards the stand. They cut the interview short, a minute of so later she got to interview him again fully on the stage.

SVP & Russillo clarified this moment with Coach Shaw on their show yesterday. Shaw said he felt really bad for her because he kept getting dragged away. He said he had nothing but respect for Heather Cox and that she was one of the best in the business. It was Coach Shaw that came back to make sure she got her interview.

I don't blame the coach. But, they could have let him finish the interview before pulling him away. Really stupid by the Rose bowl officials. It's a lame bowl anyway....
