With so much being made over the "stereotype", this board has been no exception, I think recruits pay attention to guys like Swope getting a chance at A+M, Vernon at Duke, etc. I think it is all about getting your opportunity.
Having said that, I think Captain is right, D. Smith will help in this recruiting, as will others.

Between football and baseball, we're going to have about 5 or 6 of his high school teammates playing sports at LSU.
