Going into this yr this is how we looked.
We lose our best DL, WR and best cover corner to NFL.
We feel like the Freak will replace Brockers- doesnt happen
We feel like someone will step up at WR - Does happen
We feel Mathieu will replace Claiborne- Doesnt happen

We lose our All-SEC Left Tackle after 1 game.
We lose our 2-3 yr starter Hurst at RT
RG goes down early in season

Mathieu the Bednarik winner leaves team
Our Punter, which had the best season Ive ever seen, isnt nearly the same punter this yr.

We lose two semi starting LB's early in season with Alexander and Muncie.

Our 2 premiere DE's under perform in the pass rush dept.

How are we 10-2 and 1 play away.

You forgot about losing Alfred Blue.

Wing was nearly as good as last year if you look at the numbers.

It is and thanks for pointing that out. That says even more about this year's LSU team.

How could I forget Blue. People have no idea how good that guy is, he will be a star here and in the NFL. But i must say the guy that replaced him, Hill now theres greatness. He will go down as one of the all time greats here.

Could easily have been an undefeated season, but....could easily have been a 5 loss season too. Just a very weird season.

I think 10-2 is very impressive considering the circumstances. Sure it could have been 11-1 and in Miami but could easily have been 8-4.

The 2007 season could have been a 4-5 loss season as well.... but they got in to the NC.... same record as this season... BUT, 2007 never lost in regulation... but lost to worse teams than this one

Just goes to show you how things can turn out....

Anyone remember Ohio States 2000 campaign? They played several! several games very tight against alomst anyone they played.... no one believed they would beat Dorsey and the Canes, but they did..... closely... haha....

LSU has been better than that, but LSU and Ohio State, Defense-Field Position champions...

A win is a win is a win, ugly or not....

-Miles is closer to Tressel than I think most of us realize, I'd take MIles over Tressel though...

- I think we lost to Florida this season, because they actually beat us handily in the Field Position game

For the first time in a few years, i dont know how to feel about the team going into 2013, I hate to even use them as a comparison, BUT I want a few years streaks of a dominant team like Bama has going right now. 3 national title appearances in 4 years. I hope thats what next year kicks off.. i really hope it doesnt take a step back like 08 type deal. This years team was good, but couldnt pull it all together and kept having new obstacles. 10-2...11-2 soon, is a hell of a finish. Just hope this is considered LSU's "worst" season out of the next 4 or 5.

Shady

Wats there not to like about next yr? we will have an All-SEC signal caller behind center for a change.
We need to replace Lonergan we get Faulk Back on the OL. Running backs are back Wrs are back.

Defensively we will have to replace a few great ones. We will miss Montgomery, Reid and especailly Minter, but heck thats still not alot to replace. We will be deeper and better at every position except ML, WDE and FS. Rasco should be ready and Loston is an emerging star. I like our chances.

I have always likened Miles and his tenure at LSU to Phil Fulmer during his successful run at Tennessee. But I can see the Tressel comparison also.
