taking a LOOK:

DE - jordan/galette
DT - hicks
DT - bunkley
DE - ???/wilson

LB - casillas
LB - lofton
LB - hawthorne/chamberlin

CB - greer/white/patrick
CB - jenkins/robinson

S - ?????/quddus
S - harper/bush

looks like we need to draft a linebacker for depth. bring in a starting caliber DE and either re-sign porter for cheap (injured this season) or draft a safety and move jenkins to CB or vice VERSA and keep jenkins at safety.

Jenkins is NOT going to be moved to CB. Are you retarded? Let's take a S who has limited range and put him at CB with his 4.6-4.7 speed. He was moved to S for a reason. He's too slow to play CB. That's usually where you have your best and fastest athletes on the team.

The only way I see this happening is if Spag wants a bigger guy for his zone scheme. Jenkins did come from a zone scheme in college and you don't have to be ridiculously fast to play zone at CB...

I still don't see it happening. You're taking a guy who played a year of CB, moved to S, and is now at the end of his contract to go back to CB? Ain't happening son.

of those ya listed-

Galette RFA
Casillas UFA

Humber & McBride are UFAs that could be back

people say Jenkins CB but where has anyone ever heard of him possibly moving back? I haven't anywhere but here.

Elbert Mack has assumed the #3 CB spot pretty well

DT Tom Johnson possibly the most under appreciated player on the team. Not all world but a steady contributor. Injuries have been a bigger issue than performance.

Herring still under contract and not expensive

S Jerico Nelson

2013 is Romeus time!

He will either take a paycut or be cut. Saints will have to do some serious salary cap management. They're currently over the cap. Loomis will get it done though. Always does.

Graham is in a contract year right? I'd imagine he will be first priority. Bushrod/Graham are the only two major contributors as FA this year I think. I believe Bushrod is gone and they'll pick someone up from FA/draft there.

I rather keep Jenkins at Safety and find a corner better or equal to Greer

With limited cap space, I didn't see a lot of turnover on this defense. The usual suspects likely to be gone are Ellis for sure with Will Smith, Roman Harper and Vilma possibly being cap casualties.

There aren't many OLB in FA or the draft, so Vilma may be back simply because of lack of options.

There are a lot of DE available in FA (Freeny, Osi, M. Johnson & Avril) as well as the draft (Montgomery, Mingo, Ansah & Hunt) I doubt we see Smith back unless he takes a significant pay cut and rotates with a rookie.

I think we are set at CB with Greer, PRob, Mack, White and J. Patrick. I don't know if we can afford Porter, even if he is cheap. I think Jenkins going back to CB is pure speculation on our part simply because he played so bad last year.
At Safety, there are some options in FA (Moore) and the draft, so I guess it depends.
