Why do kickers always get the blame for a loss on a missed FG?

All these Rutgers players and coaches are giving the kicker who missed a 42 yarder in the rain from the right hash in overtime a hard time, as if he was the sole reason they lost

How about treating the Rutgers offense like that, who scored 0 points after the 1st quarter and didn't gain a single yard in OT

This always seems to happen when a kicker is put in a tough spot thanks to an offense that didn't do its job

When u suck that bad it's makes you feel better to blame the kicker

Makes the QB who had like 4 completions all game feel better

They didn't even score a TD. The one score came on defense.

if a college kicker can't make that, he shouldn't have a scholarship...

There are NFL kickers who are not automatic from 42, right hash, in the rain

It was a frog strangler. That's not an easy kick at all. They should've run the screen to the left side to set up the kick.

Go down the list and say if the QB can't ___ then he shouldn't be on scholarship.

That whole Rutgers offense could get that same treatment

Lulz. How about getting even just 1 yard in 3 downs to help him out?

Why do college kickers miss. They are young men put in stressful situations. Some times they make it and other times they dont.

Nfl kickers miss plenty.

It's his responsibility to make the kick. If he doesn't make the kick, he gets the blame.

And what's the responsibility of the offense?

it was the offenses responsibility to move the ball and score. They didn't do either. In fact, the kicker led the offense in scoring 4-0.

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's why they get blamed. The kicker's the scapegoat. That O was disgusting.

Yeah...I didn't watch, but I've never seen players and coaches give a kicker a hard time for a missed kick.
