Talked to two scouts who scouted Choo last year and both opined that Bruce would end up in CF and Choo in RF after Dusty evaluates them

quote:

Bruce is younger and has actually played more center field in his career than Choo has. Thirty five games there to Choo’s ten, although all 35 of those came way back in 2008. In the minors Bruce spent the majority of his time in center field — 205 of his 325 career minor league games. Choo spent 151 of his 600+ minor league games in center.

Lots of pricks have done well in baseball and it's not like you have to marry the guy.

Assholes actually make great pitchers, there is a difference between being an a-hole and not being able to be coached. Maybe I'm giving the d backs to much credit but is guess that more shite then we know about went down for them to trade him.

The DBacks are loaded at SP throughout their system, so that probably made it easier for them to deal.

I like what CLE and CIN got, ARZ got the short end of the stick as of now.

I LOVE this trade for the Reds. Choo had a bad 2011 and that seemed to distort peoples views. He has had an OPS+ of 130 or higher 4 of the last 5 years, with 2011 being the bad year. His RBI's are down but the Indians suck, thats not his fault. He had 43 doubles last year and he's a .380 career OBP guy. His defense will be a little suspect but this is a solid defensive team so it will hide it somewhat, plus GABP isn't exactly Safeco. Choo will have 105+ runs next year in this offense. Im excited.

Im not going to miss Choo in Cleveland. He has had terrible starts to the last two seasons and seems to miss a ton of games from injurys.

Defense you dont have to worry about. He's very good in the outfield and has one of the best arms in baseball.

He played 144 games plus 3 out of the last 4 seasons. He does appear to be a better second half player, which I'll take over a guy who fades.
