2012 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with a sticker of $43,995 discounted $8700 including rebates plus giving me $10,000 for my trade (which I haven't been able to sell outright with asking price of $11,000).

With it being the last day of the month and rebates ending, he tried to get me to go ahead and buy today, but I was in a hurry and told him I'd think about it over the weekend. After I left, I got a call saying the deal would still be available on Monday. I also have another deal available on a 2010 Silverado LTZ, but in all honesty I prefer the Ford. Just trying to figure out which way to go.

Sounds just about OK to me, but I'm not currently in the market. If your current car is paid off I'd tell him "I can't pay a penny more than $25K - out the door", meaning $25K with tax title and license as well as your trade factored in there. This way they can finagle the numbers however they see best for the dealer.

I wouldn't personally do it, but if you really want the truck, then you're probably going to get it, right? It's worth a shot to see what they say.

Possibly. It's within my budget, however the 2010 Chevrolet is a better deal. Just going to sleep on it and decide over the weekend I guess.

One thing to keep in mind though, is the Chevrolet is being sold by a private owner, and I have not been able to sell my truck on my own in about a months time.

Get the Ford. Agree on the 25k thing--tell them you have another truck that you don't like as much but the wife/GF is being a stickler about money due to kids/house/ovaries

That's a low sticker for a lariat 4x4

All the ones I've seen lately are close to 50

I got 12k off the sticker on my lariat 4x4 in 2010

Request ford brochures from fords website and theyll probably send you a 750 dollar coupon that's good on top of all other incentives

No Nav (don't need or want) and no sunroof (never used in my old truck). I guess that's why it's a lower price. Thanks for the suggestion on the coupon.

Lariat sounds like a good deal. Go for it.

Almost embarrassed to say because it's a good bit under book value. Needs about 3k worth of body work done however, with the tailgate and bumper being in the worst shape.

you can get more off of the sticker. i just bought a truck today and got $8500 off sticker for a 2013. sticker was 53. google houston ford dealerships. they have internet pricing on all 2012. they are offering 10-12K off 2012 f150's. i found my price at joe myers ford. printer out the window sticker (which you can do on their website) and printed out offer) bring that to the dealership and tell them to match it if they want your business. they asked me if i was really going to drive to houston. i said absolutely i am. they eventually caved. good luck

I say no. Robinson Brothers in BR gives an automatic 10k off on all Lariats most of the year. I would start there and then try to get more off. I got over 10k off on my 2011 this time a year ago.

For one last time, don't negotiate off sticker price. It is a made up number.

For one last time, I didn't. We started at dealer invoice price and then took rebates off. Happened to be over 10k off sticker.

OP, don't forget your $750 coupon and look up other rebates too. I qualified for the American Quarter Horse Association too.

What do you do when they say the vehicle is from another dealership and that dealership kept the holdback?
