Went to Dale Browns' send off years ago. Dick Vitale was supposed to emcee it but no-showed. Brando got the last minute call, and actually did a pretty good job, but I think that's when he was with JP Sports and still more or less looking for a good job, therefore had to tone down the obnoxiousness.

I am unable to sit through all of Brando's filibustering when asking a question. it goes on and on and on and always includes his experiences, his opinions and his point of view. Didn't like him on channel 9 back in BR, didn't like him on SEC basketball and don't like him now.
The best I've heard this year has been Todd Blackledge and Brad Nessler.

Got one that trumps Brando...listening to Troy Aikman on Sunday and he apparently didnt know that in the NFL if a ball carrier goes down w/o contact from an opposing player, that the ball carrier can get up and run. Joe Buck had to correct him. How long was Troy in the NFL?

Brando needs to stay in studio, and Verne needs to stay in his Jabba the Verne shack.

Brando. Man that was painful to listen to. He was completely lost.

He needs to stick to doing stuff in the studio.

Holy shite which one of you fricking losers just went on PF and made an arse out of yourself?

Really, you just thought you were so awesome by reading this thread to Timmy B on national radio and thought you were so cool. You're not, you're still a fricking loser.

That was turrible. But I thought it was the other way around, with Aikman correcting Buck. Hard for me to tell their voices apart - and I have to keep reminding myself that Dan Dierdorf isn't the one talking (I think it's Buck that sounds so much like Dierdorf to me).

Dierdorf sounds like Aikman. I've never thought of it until now though, but it is true.

so in other words Hawthorne's broadcast of the game made Brando's play by play seem amateurish.

A St.Trooper friend stopped TB, driving 95 mph on the interstate a few yrs ago. The trooper said that the first words out of TB's mouth was "do you know who I am?". Said trooper responded "yes, the guy who will be spending the wkend in jail for trying to intimidate an officer of the law." TB shut his pie hole. As well, the dye job on his hair needs a lot of work. Reminded me of John Ferguson in his last yrs broadcasting LSU games.

I've never seen more commercials during a game then the one last Friday.

Good God.

That reminded me of the first mistake Brando made right off the bat. He said (paraphrasing) "settle down for 3 hours of hard hitting football"
When has any CBS telecast LSU game this season lasted less the 4 hours? Asked my wife the same question after he said that.

Update: Some guy called the finebaum show yesterday when Brando was on and started reading this to him. Brando got all defensive and started talking over the guy and calling him names. When the guy said how much Brando screwed up, Brando actually said, "You try doing it."

I think the guy was trying to say it wasn't his job, it was Brandon's, but Brando over talked him and called him names.
