I am attending the Barbe vs WM game @ Barbe this Friday night-- any recruits to keep an eye on?

I know Cam Robinson. Melvin Jones is still out with injury? Anyone else? Numbers?
and thanks!

I think Melvin Jones goes to Washington-Marion...

But the obvious is Trey Quinn for Barbe. 2014 WR who has an LSU offer. I think Barbe's QB is a guy going to LSU for baseball as well.

Smith will stick out in pre-game, every bit of 6'5" and looks like an NFL Tight End now!

Barbe's junior qb is a baseball prospect[Kennon Fontenot]...too short for football but he's a great athlete.

Haven't been posting on TD for long but one thing I do know is you want to make it seem like you are really serious about whatever it is you are trying to troll. Anyone short of an idiot knows WM will probably win this game and if for some reason they don't it won't be b/c they gave up 41 to Barbe. The Bucs will put up 18-20 at best. Also, I hate WM (Ouachita grad at that) so this has nothing to do with school affiliation

I no way is it more than a pick'em rite now between these I really don't care what has happened in the past in this mini rivalry game Barbe is gunna give Wm everything they can handle Friday and if there not careful they could get blown out with how fast this offense can score once again as I've stated before not saying barbe is gonna roll but geez your ignorant if you already think barbe has lost this game

My reply was interference to you pr another poster saying Barbe would put up 41 vs WM. it has nothing to do with previous meeting. I also know Barbe has some big time players. With that said WM always finds a way and they always seem to do it (Evangel withstanding) against teams with good passing and or run games. Barbe hasn't faced a team as good as WM this year and the final score will reflect that. I even stated Barbe may win but the will not put up 41 points. If you go back and look I don't think I said a single thing about this being a given not did I say it would be a blow out by WM.

I think you're right, although aren't they 2014? I assume they are because they grew up on that LL team with Kennon and Quinn, who are 2014 kids.

Last I heard, Kennon is high on Ole Miss and LSU as a shortstop. There remains the possibility he'll go to a McNeese or UL-Lafayette, where he may have a realistic chance at playing both. But I think he's ultimately a baseball player. No future for 5-9/5-10 QBs.

He's really Johnny Football at the high school level. He's really a good runner too. Leads the state in passing. Of course, his passing stats get padded by having half-decent receivers to pick from

Really, aside from Quinn and Smith, Gunner Leger is a pretty good receiver too. I watched him have a big game on TV against LaGrange that opening weekend when Cox picked up that game. I bet he'd be the No. 1 receiver for a lot of high school teams and he's the No. 3 receiver for Barbe. And Galentine is a pretty good threat out of the backfield.

Gunner Leger and Galentine are both very capable athletes and are big time playmakers, and are one of many reasons it is hard to double team Barbe's big weapons like Smith!

I'm assuming a WM win too, but there are things that give me pause.

Fitzwater put up some big numbers on WM and Barbe has a much better passing game than Calvary. Fitzwater may be a slightly better prospect than Kennon. He certainly has the measurables over Kennon, but Kennon throws it really well and is a good dual threat guy. I think they could both land state school scholarships, although Kennon will play baseball.

But Barbe has much, much better receivers. I'd suspect that if Quinn's season isn't the most prolific receiving season in the history of the state, it's close.

And like I said in an earlier post, the No. 2 receiver is an SEC TE and the No. 3, Leger, is at least a very good high school receiver and possibly a state school-type receiver.

Now, I suspect, as usual when these teams play, West Monroe will have a man v. boys advantage on the lines. But with Fontenot's ability to extend plays, I don't know if that matters much. He's going to create time to make throws and I'll be real curious to see if WM can cover those guys.

I can see Barbe winning a 35-28 type game. I don't see Barbe putting up 40 because WM will control clock when it has the ball. But I do see Barbe getting some big plays.
