Do y'all ever see these as pets in LA? Anyone owned one? Discovered in this area in the 70's living in the swamps. Friend has an extra pup I was going to grab probably just as a family pet.

THats cool. Good looking dogs. How are they temperment wise? Im guessing these are about 4th or 5th generation tamed if they were discovered 40 years ago,do you actually know?

Yeah, my boy had one named Roux he found as a puppy.

Looked just like those...

She was a sweetheart of a dog, because they spoiled their dogs.

I had a Basenji when I was a kid. I think it is a close relative of these dogs. Looks identical. Anyway, That was one crazy dog. He was very aggressive and territorial. He ended up biting a kid pretty badly and we had the dog put down.

About 20 yrs ago I killed a wild dog while squirrel hunting that looked a lot like that. It came at me and I loaded him up with #6 shot at about 10yds. I don't believe it was a Dingo but it looked a lot like those dogs.

BTW no collar......

There was a study done a while back that basically said if you put a bunch of different breeds in a big pen and let them randomly breed, eventually you would have a medium size dog, tan in color, black muzzle , pricked ears and curved tail. Hummmmm........

Yep, about 3 generations of random wild dogs surviving in the woods makes those.

Years of independence fending for themselves with no human masters. Sounds like a bad idea

Seems to me like a breed of wild dog is just an all around bad decision. I mean all dogs are descendant of wolves, but with thousands of years of domestication between. This is different.
