Kliff Kingsbury is pipe dream for USM. He will likely be at Auburn.

I was told by big Eagle Club booster that by Friday he would know who knew HC was.

Houston Nutt maybe i think that would be good situation he can bring back a dormant program.

Boise St, Arkansas, Ole Miss for 2 years before they turned on him. Go back on youtube and read any interview during the 2009 season and Nutt was king there.

Berry at ULM would jump at that job. Anything is more than what he is making now.

I dont think Todd Berry would leave a decent team ready to be even better next year to resurrect an 0-12 shithole. He's waiting for a better job than that. I could see him going to a school like Texas Tech or Cincinatti.

Not so sure about that. USM may have to go way off the grid with this hire.

Sucks for USM, but they will have to weigh the hotshot vs. veteran coach much like the other have-nots of the college football world.

A hotshot got them to the verge of a BCS bowl, then dumped them for prettier bride. Now look at the team.

Then again Bower had them bowling every year, but fan interest leveled out. I don't know how realistic fan expectations are these days, though. I know last year was a great year, but, honestly, that 2000 season which culminated in the defeat of #13 TCU in the Mobile Bowl was the most exciting time to be a Golden Eagle fan. The team felt on a steady pass to continue moving upward and accomplishing great things, not some flash in the pan season.

EJ was a great DC, but not a head coach. He was happy at SC and should have never left.

USM has hit it off pretty good with the last 2 Okie State OCs that they have hired. Would be a great hire.

I like this list although Chad Morris would have to take a pretty major pay cut to go to USM. Monken and Kingsbury are at the top of my list.

When they fired Jeff Bower it took my level of hate to a whole new level. To fire the teams most successful coach of all time after a 7 win season because you think your little school can be relevant on the national level just really pissed me off.

Eh, the program was becoming very mediocre with Bower at the helm. Our fans wanted to win a CUSA title and Bower didn't do that in his 7 of his last 8 years. In 2007, he lost to a 3 win Rice team and Memphis (both at home). The fans were very upset and our last home game of the year had under 20k people announced which never happens at USM.

Is the new coach going to bring a new QB or can the Freshman get it done next year?

Bower will tell them to go frick off he's living it up down in Bay St. Louis.

If they offer/hire Favre it'd be a worse hire than the Ellis Johnson hire.
