without a doubt. in his prime dude was the best in the game hands down. he led the league in strikeouts 9 different seasons, won a triple crown, and won 5 Cy Young awards. one of the best ever.

by the way as a lifelong, Astros fan (as hard as that has been) - Randy Johnson's short time in Houston was some of the absolute best pitching of his career. he was nearly unstoppable in the 11 games he pitched for Houston going 10-1 with a 1.28 ERA and averaging 11 strikeouts per game.

I think any baseball writer who doesn't vote for him should have his voting privileges revoked. And yes, I'm aware that no player has ever gotten voted in on the first ballot unanimously. If he is not worthy of the hall of fame who is?

He was dominating in an era when his competition was known to be using performance enhancing substances, and his name did not come up in connection with their use. Voting him in sends the message that great baseball performance will be recognized just as loudly as the message that cheating will not be rewarded has been sent by denying votes for known, and reputed, PED users.

Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, & Ronnie Milsap would vote for him.

One of my fondest memories going to a Stros game in the early 00's vs the D Backs. Sitting behind the 3rd base dug out. I can rememeber how akward it was watching this tall arse ugly guy with his chain bouncing around his neck round second base and slide into third. It was like time stood still.

He is one of the greatest of all-time.

I think he is the best pitcher of my lifetime and if he hadn't been delayed in the minors for some odd reason, he would've broken Nolan Ryan's strikeout record.
