Were you in the "Letting Meachem go is a big mistake." crowd?
Saw this on rotoworld-
Robert Meachem caught his only target for a gain of eight yards in the Chargers' Week 10 loss to Tampa Bay.
Meachem has lost his starting job to Danario Alexander and can be dropped in fantasy leagues. "Honestly, it didn't matter," Meachem said afterwards. "We were winning. We were moving the ball. Yeah, I would love to be out there. Yeah, I would love to play. But when things are going right, how can you pout?"
3/13/2012: Signed a four-year, $25.9 million contract.
I thought he would thrive there being more of a primary target. When I've watched some Bolts games I've seen him drop big passes and pull up lame. Looks like another kudo goes to Loomis for making the right decision.
Meachem age 28, 13 catches, 197yds, 2 TDs for a $7.5mil signing bonus and avg salary of $6.5mil
LINK
Joe Morgan age 24, 3 catches, 133yds, 2 TDs for $375,000

Although I think Meach would have a much better stat line if he had stayed a Saint, it certainly would not be worth the price. Good call Loomis...Joe Morgan, keep workin on those hands!

I didn't care when one bit when he left.

I wanted to keep Meach but didn't see anyway we could do it. Once again Loomis found a way to fill a need at a reasonable cost.

I agree with what's been said, I would have liked to keep him, but not for that price.
I thought the same thing, our decision to let him walk looks even better now.

I'm not going to say I wanted to see the guy go but there is no way we could pay him what he wanted.
Easy business decision. I like the comparison to Joe Morgan right there.

I'd take Meachem back for the right price though. We are better with him in the lineup.

Joe Morgan played his role pretty good. In fact he took over the 1WR formation role from Devery yesterday.
