Of those, only EJ has "pace", and that's where JK played him after taking all kinds of crap for calling him up at all.
In a vacuum, no one would care about Eddie Johnson being called up. People are angry because Juergen is trying to prove a point to a talented player, but confirmed social media retard, in qualifying. Handle it internally and burn Altidore's twitter account in a fire.
Juergen can do whatever the hell he wants, and he would be justified in feeling vindicated if things go well tomorrow. However, Juergen's position is not an automatically excusable one, and it's not outrageous for fans to expect him to handle things differently.
Additionally, Eddie Johnson is not a wide player. I would not expect to see him out wide in a more traditional environment.

To be fair, Robbie Rogers dribbles out of bounds better than anyone else in the pool

Herc gave him a run for the money on Friday night.

Not calling in your most talented players ONCE is a poor decision. Doing it repeatedly shows poor decision making ABILITY.
That's overly simplistic.
You could say that Bob relying on Bornstein repeatedly shows poor decision making ABILITY, too, but that would also be overly simplistic.

snubbing Bradley at the beginning of his tenure
September 2011 called and wants its criticism back.
There are a couple of reasons I've heard for not calling Bradley in for some friendlies LAST YEAR. Both of them make a ton more sense than JK not realizing how talented MB is or thinking he doesn't need to be part of the team.
