Who has more talent Texas/Florida or Alabama?

Its easier to pull kids from huge states like Texas, and Florida than it is from Bama.

This makes sense - If I take emotions out of the picture (i.e Sabama), it is logical to not expend 90% of your time to get 10% returns instead it makes more sense to go after the low hanging fruit, especially when they are of equal worth.

Name me some game changers that are playing for Auburn and Alabama that are from Louisiana.

You got Lacy, who wasn't offered by LSU. Then..who?

I mentioned perceived game changers , instead I should have said high profile and/or recruits in positions of need - the few that I can think of are - Landon collins, Lacy,Kenny Bell,Sylve, Denzel Devall, Greg Robinson, Trovon Reed.

It just seems that head to head, there seems to be enough number of players that choose to go out especially in the last few years.

But the flip side of the argument is that LSU does the same thing to teams in Florida and Texas and other places - but dangit , I look upon that as being only natural.

la. kids look at bama for a few reasons.

1.lil nicky was head coach at LSU
2. bama ia relatively close to home
3. it is in the SEC west
4. they don't have a natural second choice

ex. meyer won 2 NCs at florida but didn't get one recruit from la. meyer is known to be a great recruiter but he didn't have the built in advantages that bama currently has

I heard Jabbar Julukke, Karr's Head Coach say Wednesday that kids leaving the State need to realize that " Alabama's going to take care of Alabama kids, Florida's going to take care of Florida kids, etc."

I agree.

I noticed the huge gap. This is why LSU isnt as easy to recruit at as people think. Cant build a BCS champion from LA talent a lone. But its important to get majority of top players from in state. Always a great base to build upon.

EXACTLY. Couldn't have said it any better.

I'm sure this has been said in this thread, but it's hard to believe that Trey Quinn is rated as the third best WR in the state.

I am a bit dense with regards to the wording - is he saying that Alabama and Florida ( the schools) will make sure that the kids who go there will do fine?

Or is it that Alabama and Florida (the state) will take care of the kids who come to their schools?

I haven't seen too much of the Noil or Dupre, but are they better than Quinn or is it just a case of who has had more exposure?

I've heard people say that about Texas kids going to LSU. They say the Texas kids won't get a fair shake vs La kids. I don't think that's the case.

I know people get upset about guys like Landon Collins leaving the state, but remember we got Corey Thompson in his place. As long as we keeping 90% of the top instate guys we are a big enough program to get some out of state guys to fill in the gaps.

I would love to talk about every one of the players on this list. Instead we have the LSU recruiting board filled with local players who don't even know if they will play division I. I am OK with the youngsters who are great 9th or 10th graders in the Hilliard or Fournette mold. No more Class of 2013 or 2014 kids who aren't even on LSU's radar and probably not even gonna get a ULL offer. Tell me about Robinson from West Monroe and Jones from Neville. I saw Willis play so I know he is terrific.

Noil predominately plays QB, although this season he has played a little wideout and, from what I understand, has looked pretty sharp.

Dupre plays for a team that may throw 5 passes per game.

Quinn plays in an offense that allows him to flourish.

This is not a knock on Quinn.. he is the real deal. But, you can't look solely at production on the HS level when you recruit players. I would love to have all 3.

Cam is being coached up. He was extremely raw when he got to WM. He'll tell you the difference in coaching is night and day. Give him 2 years with Sanders in the weight room and Hunt on the line and you won't recognize him. Scary part is he's already #2 in the country before the transformation.
