Burns Point camping. Who's been?

Looks like a good area to camp, kayak and fish. What does the ODB think of burns point?

May be OK now, with Atchafalaya so low. Every time i went it was very muddy, and overly fresh from the river. I assume you are saltwater fishing? Also very open so subject to wind influence. Campground seems nice though.

Yes, I want to saltwater fish. Are there tent sites available?

I don't remember tent sites. May be some but we just drove by to check it out last winter. I know there is

Yes there are tent sites some with small covered area with table. Best time of the year to fish there is now. Caught an ice Chest full last week there. Kayak fishing would be good you don't have to go far at all. Plenty of fish get caught off the bank there.
The fish we caught last week flounders, reds, specks, white trout, drum and bull croakers are all over. Real big croakers I filleted 30 with the electric knife. Reds biting good but a lot of small ones.
