I can't wait to see ZHS roll Central. Must be tough for Wes Watts to watch.

I remember ole Coach Watts. I never thought he was a great basketball coach. Had some talent at Central a few years and never really did anything with it.

4-1 West Monroe at 5-0 Pineville. I GUARANTEE that the Rebels win this one.

The Capitol/Dunham game will be Friday, not Thursday. That said, Capitol just fired their coach, so I can't imagine the game will be all that close.

This should be a good one to watch. Could turn into a track meet.

stupid Pan American schedules a pretty good game in East Jeff and Easton for 3:30 pm today

Bonnabel against a bad Hahnville team is still the underdogs according to this site...

LINK

the Catholic League begins this week, and it looks like it will come down to a Rummel-Jesuit showdown again in week 9

I think this will be Live Oak's first playoff season in 5A...

Pineville will win our award from last year, for the rudest smackdown of an upstart undefeated team from a 5A powerhouse

Parkway and Haughton came into 5A as somewhat rivals due to meeting at 9-0 each their last year in 4A, and they both might want to look into upgrading the competition the next scheduling cycle

there are 30 undefeated teams left statewide and 7 in 5A... Rummel, Parkway, St. Amant, Jesuit, Pineville, Haughton, and

Carver gave up 72 last week to Newman, will be interested to see what they do this week.

To be fair, they did score 68

Is Baylor recruiting any of their defenders?

Captain Shreve and Airline should be an interesting one. See how Airline bounces back after Hildebrand threw four interceptions and a fumble last week at Neville.

I agree
Just realized that Zachary has played every game (jamboree game included) so far this season at home.

I'll be in Slidell tonight watching the St. Paul's-Salmen matchup.

The Wolves have survived the last couple weeks with close calls to Covington and Mandeville (their top two district opponents) and go on the road to face a tough non-district foe in Salmen. If the Spartans air it out with LSU-commit Chuck Baker, they should move the ball pretty handedly. I'm not sure the status of St. Paul's safety Jay Washington (who injured his shoulder against Covington), but without him back there, it makes a difference.

Salmen is known for their relentless ground game and have a RB that will contend for the title of second-best RB in the state for the 2014 class by the name of Chris Thomas. They usually feed him the ball 25-30 times/game, so the Wolves' front 7 better bring their A game (although I feel their run defense is their strong point).

It should be a great matchup, but I'm gonna go against my alma mater and say Salmen takes this one 24-13.
