4/23 Update: Someone from "Eater NOLA" reads this forum. I made an article with this post! (scroll to bottom!)

Eater NOLA Article.

For those of you who are disappointed with the recent changes that "Top of the Hops" made to their venues, or for anyone who enjoys Beer Festivals, here's some good news!!!

https://www.louisianabeerfest.com/

Their Facebook Page

Louisiana Beer Fest - Lake Charles is scheduled for May 19th, 2012 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Louisiana Beer Fest - North Shore in September 2012 (I've already confirmed that this one will be held at Fountainbleu State Park in Mandeville, former site of Top of the Hops)

Louisiana Beer Fest - Lafayette event is in the development stage. Updates are coming soon, including date and location.

Louisiana Beer Fest - Alexandria is in the development stages at this tme. We will be releasing the date, location, and time of the Festival in the next couple of weeks. Please check back for more infomation as it becomes available.?

Interesting,

Their site is blocked at work but I'm sure I'll be hearing about it more in the coming months. What happened to top of the hops?

Red Mountain Entertainment, the production company that sponsored the festival, Changed the name and moved it to Champions Square. It's now the International New Orleans Beer Festival. It was just last month.

If you go to the Top of the Hops, Northshore Facebook Page and read their announcement of the name and venue change, you'll see how pissed off people were.

Top of the hops was 4 hours... 5 with a VIP ticket. This one will be 7 with a VIP ticket. Think I'm gonna bring a tent and sleep in the park cause I won't even be able to make it from the event to the parking lot to get to the car of whoever is picking me up.

LMAO

Yeah, it would totally be worth it to rent a camping spot for the night.
