Anyone know where I can buy a loaf of the bread they use to make their Texas toast.

I tried calling and asking a manager if they would sell me just a loaf and he said sure for like $13 bucks. I thought that was a little high. Anyone seen it around town (Baton Rouge).

I think Holsum or one of the other big bread companies makes texas toast in loaves, just about like the Cane's kind (it might be seeded). I just recall a yellow wrapper. Check you grocery or wal mart bread section. I know I've bought some before.

For some reason I want to say it's called bbq bread in the store but I could be wrong. I can see the bag but can't remember the name.

unless they have changed it, grab yourself a loaf of Holsum BBQ bread and melt yourself some butter and garlic salt. Brush it on a few slices and grill it in a skillet and you should be set.

It is BBQ bread and Holsum and Bunny make it. Don't know exactly which one Canes uses but they are basically the same.

I think I'm gonna have to go pick up me a loaf tomorrow to go with our alligator sauce and the Saints.

Most grocery stores sell Texas-toast cut loaves. If you have one of the discount bread stores near you, they usually have it too.

Holsum Texas toast with real melted butter brushed on and toasted on flat grill on both sides. That's the culinary secret.

unless the manager has a distributor license, he can't sell you things that they have in stock. he was prolly just throwing out a random number to make you not want to buy it.

bunny bread has texas toast loafs. thats what the canes looks like it is. just put some garlic butter on it.

Sounds right in line with what they charge for everything else.

Thanks for sharing. Oh, and Todd Graves is a dick who stole the whole concept and the charge too much for their shitty food and they keep raising prices and lowering portions. Oh, and Cane's sauce sucks. Oh, and Popeyes is better.

That should about cover it.

I think I'll be getting some for lunch.

Why can't he sell things that are in stock? 13 bucks is probably how much cane's would charge if you bought however many sides of toast it takes to make a loaf. He can sell whatever he wants to whoever he wants. Now maybe the breadmaker can't. But canes certainly is 100% able to sell whatever they want, for whatever they want to the general public at whatever cos they want.

Nope. Just trying to cover everything so this doesn't go 6 pages of the same shite as every other Cane's thread.

I really don't care one way or the other.

Back in the day when I was a bus boy at Bonanza, we used to dip two slices at a time and stick them together.
