Just denied for a musicians friend credit card (HSBC)

First off i had the CC before and they deactivated my account after 2 years of no use and told me I had to reapply. So i do it and i get denied, so first thing im thinking is I hope no one stole my identity and wrecked my credit. I go and check my credit score. 777. What sort of fricked up process are they using to approve credit cards now a days.

yea i didn't even bother fighting it, i'm buying a new guitar and wanted the 12 months no interest. I just applied for a chase slate card instead that has 0% on the balance for 12 months. Pretty fricked up though. The really fricked up part is that i have a best buy visa card that is HSBC that i use for everything and never make a late payment and put at least 5-7k on a year.
