I follow recruiting, but nothing near the consistent posters on TD. I am going to try and give a heads up on a great player for next year. Saint Pauls HS in Covington has a DE named Houston Bates... DOMINATING. I don't scout or grade out players much, but if you get a chance to watch SPS you need to watch him (#94). I think he had 10+ tackles and 2-3 sacks today against Shaw from the DE position. He is a Junior, 6-2 and about 230-240 lbs. He reminds me of David Pollack from UGA a few years ago. I have only seen him play once, but he was THE MOST DOMINATING defensive player I have seen out of SPS EVER! He was the first player off the ball every play, and Shaw had NO answer for him with double & Triple team blocks. He is very good, and I would like to know what some of the more educated posters think about him going to a major program... possibly LSU.

99 was good (soph), but 94 was the difference. bates was dominant.

Our OT pretty much handled him all night. 99 is gunna be highly recruited by everyone. he was a load to move and he also was really quick.

LSUguy13 is talking about the St Thomas Moore game that SPS won 13-10. It sounds like neither offense handled anybody all night though. 10 points is not exactly handling the defense. If your OT was pushing Bates around then why didn't your coaches run to his side? I think you are mistaken about his ability, but 99 is a GREAT player too. 99 is 6'2" or 6'3" and 295lbs as a SOPHMORE He is going to be a big-time recruit in a couple years!
