I'm not going to read thru this entire thread, so perhaps others have noted these names. Believe it or not, perhaps the strongest-armed QB I've ever seen is Jeff George, dude was apparently something of a head case but had an absolute cannon. Going back a few years, ol' Sonny Jurgensen in his prime could really sling the ball; I've seen footage of him throwing 50 yard passes behind his back. Dan Fouts had a really strong arm. Not to mention Bert Jones, of course John Elway.

Don't know if they still have the qb competition that used to come on TV in the 80's and 90's, but I remember Randall Cunningham winning the distance contest with a throw of 74 yards one year.
Back in the day in those QB Challenge competitions, Randall Cunningham and Vinne Testaverde were the top dogs in the long distance event. I recall one year Vinnie throwing 86 yds.

I really do hope this is a joke. Vick has above average arm strength and thats it.

Michael Vick = 6'0 - 215
JaMarcus Russell = 6'6 - 260*

Not a very good QB, but I seem to remember Bobby Douglas for the Bears had a strong arm, but he had no touch. Used to break peoples fingers on dump offs.

Anybody claiming Vick can throw a football farther than JaMarcus Russell would have to resort to name-calling, cuz that's all you got, son. Find me somebody that agrees with you. I'm no authority on this board but I dare you to produce one of the 1000+ posters to back you up on this argument. Give it a rest.

I seen Daunte Culpepper throw one about 79 yds in high school...Jeff George used to sling around pretty good too.

Jeff George's mommy had a good arm too.

Culpepper's in the conversation. Jeff George has gotten a lot of serious support, maybe as much as anybody. It's unprovable so I agree with those candidates ... but mine is still JR. It ain't Michael Vick, that's for sure.

Vick throws some heat, he'll roll out and flick it 60 yards easily

I like Vick & was wowed by his talent like everyone else. It's a shame he got in all that trouble and landed in prison, but I don't hold that against him either. The one thing that made me wanna see him get creamed was the fact that he played for the Falcons who I hate with a passion. I don't question that he has a rocket arm either ... I just reject the idea that his arm is stronger than JaMarcus Russell's. No way in hell.

Does anyone remember the big QB Alabama had in the mid-90's, Freddie Kitchens (sp)? He had an absolute cannon but had no accuracy and no confidence as a thrower. But he did have an arm.
