George Bevan

He probably wasn't the most talented we ever had but he had the biggest heart.

micheal brooks was the best that I saw, but my LSU history only goes back to the early 80's

I only go back to the '80s so my top picks would be:

Michael Brooks
Bradie James
Faulk/Beckwith

Your right! Brooks was pretty incredible before the injury. Probably one of the most talented LB's of all time at LSU, at least from the ones that I can remember. But there have been some good ones haven't there.

He was the best LB on the best LSU team that did not win a National Championship. That's talented enough for me, even though he only comes up to my chin.

My vote is for Michael Brooks. One only needs to watch our horrible loss to Baylor in the 1985 Liberty Bowl. Michael Brooks was a beast. He was our defense. Everyone else seemed to be asleep.

I also really liked Alan Stansberry for some reason.

Because he was probably the smartest, toughest, and most fundamentally sound LB that LSU has ever had. He was always in the right place, and make a HUGE difference on the team's success when he played. I love that guy to death, and I've never even met him.

Join the Alan Stansberry fan club!!!

Stansberry formed a really good tandem with Pat Rogers. Along with Faulk-James, one of my favorite LB tandems.

I got some of Brooks' high school tape. He was a man among boys.

In the state title game, it took two people to try to block him and supposedly, those two guys were crying at half time, as told to me by one of the coaches who coached the boys who were crying.

Thank the Lord for Chick Childress, who got him to come out for high school ball. Before Childress showed up, Brooks was walking the halls, so I've been told.

Michael Brooks, Eric Hill, Ron Sancho, Bradie James, Trev Faulk, Ali Highsmith, and one of my personal favorites who still suits it up for the Tigers Derry Beckwith. He roams from side to side with the best of them and I feel like he is incredibly underappreciated.
