I can't find the fricking label, they're just regular slacks... Not cotton... Some kind of blend.

Ok, I'm not fricking with you here. If you really want to minimize the damage or possibly make it disappear this will work.

Put something on the stain that will absorb the grease instead of diluting it with water or something. You have any corn starch around? Then, go to the store and get the woolite stuff and use that. Just make sure you use COLD water and when you are doing the blotting and stuff use a towel on the back of the material so it doesn't get on some other part of the pants. I'd bring it to your dry cleaner in the morning and make sure to point out the area. They can pay special attention to it.

I had a girlfriend show me this once years ago and it worked like a charm. I've used it since and works every time. That's about the only thing she was good for. Well, a few other things but that's a different thread...

eta-I just read my post and need to say to leave the corn starch on there for a while before using the woolite. I don't have a specific time to tell you but I'd let it sit for an hour-ish.

Do you have any powder, baby OT any talc. Sprinkle where the grease is and it will absorb, but still need dry cleaning.

No. Don't wash them. Put the spot on the pants in cold water and then use dish soap to rub the stain out. Then take to dry cleaner tomorrow.

Just FYI, "dry cleaning" isn't actually cleaning garments dry. They spot treat stains with steam and chemicals and the "dry cleaner" is actually a washing machine on steroids that uses a bunch of chemicals called perk. After the cycle, the chemicals drain out and the washing machine turns into a dryer.

"The Truth About "Dry-Clean Only"
Clothing manufacturers are required to recommend at least one cleaning method on their products' care labels. When a tag reads "dry-clean only," it doesn't necessarily mean that the item can't be hand-washed, especially if it's made of natural fibers, says Steve Boorstein, a former dry cleaner who now shares his clothing-care tips in books and on DVDs. But professional dry cleaning can reduce the risk of returns by consumers who mishandle these clothes at home; manufacturers, therefore, tend to take a conservative approach."

Oh, and once you're done washing them, make sure you charge your iPhone in the microwave.

I do like a charge with a quickness. Thanks.

I have 100% cotton pants from Brooks Brothers. They are "dress pants" and are dry clean only. I have another pair of cotton pants from them that are only slightly less dressy and they are machine wash. Sometimes dry clean only isn't really necessary. I always dry clean wool though.
