you said you're a project manager in a previous post, correct? if so, yeah, you definitely made the right move
although the benefits were second to none, I'd rather give birth to a baby through my penis than to put up with that crap again.
ETA: this applies only to Slickline..can't really speak for any other PSL's.

Yep.
Doing really well. Wish I could have taken both jobs. I love me some shite work.

Another Question: So the goal is to get on with an operator down the road once I am ready to get out of the field. This being accomplished by either working on a lot of projects for one and them liking me and slapping a retainer on me and eventually bringing me in over time or through normal avenues of getting a job. Which product line would yal say offers the best opportunity for this. I know two that were brought in by Shell and they were in fluids of all things.
TIA
TIA

I work for Big Red. Had a co-worker get a DWI and he got fired. He went to work for a smaller company and was doing well. Halliburton bought that company and fired him again. Some things are just not meant to happen

If I'm in PETe and I graduate with a semi-shitty gpa what kind of job am I looking at?
Posted on 10/1/14 at 9:54 am to Merica
Oilfield trash, slaving away alongside non-engineers.
Posted on 10/1/14 at 12:24 pm to Merica
Starting out with a service company and possible eventually jumping on with an operator after 5 years or so.

Well that issue got resolved for me at least with Big red, they asked about it but only in the last 3 years so I think I am good.

I graduated in BE with a 2.9, got hired as a field engineer with Big Blue, and now I'm in one of the most high profile locations in the world. So I guess it all depends on what you want to make of it. Not everything is GPA based.
