Where was it officially listed that the kid had a concussion? Players get hit hard all the time, and get up a little slow. That doesn't mean he has a concussion, but he should be evaluated by professionals.

If he had a concussion, then the training staff should have taken his helmet away.

If Brady Hoke was winning this wouldn't be much of a story.

Hoke is a bad coach, but he wouldn't put a player back in the game who wasn't "approved" by the medical staff. Even with that, he ran ONE play and handed the ball off.
his quote on it definitely didn't help.

quote:

“Well, you know, I don't know," said Hoke when asked. "I don't know if he might've had a concussion or not. I don't know that and that wasn't something- Shane's a pretty competitive, tough kid and Shane wanted to be the quarterback and so believe me, if he didn't want to be he would've come to the sideline or stayed down.”

I never see Hoke wearing a head set. Does anyone else find this odd? I mean what exactly does he do on the sideline? I can't think of anyone else that doesn't wear a headset.

I was thinking that same thing a few years ago when he first started coaching at Michigan. Of course, the announcers were always "durrr look at him, he's an old school field general and doesn't need a headset!" which is absurd.

Him not having a headset just makes him look out of touch, out of the loop and clueless as to what's going on.

Not gonna lie, I sometimes wish Les didn't have a headset.

But yeah, Hoke just looks like a goof on the sideline.

Just like that ND camera guy getting killed wasn't a story either?

Has Gardner been so bad that this scrub replaced him?

Bellomy was not that bad out of HS.

Bellomy is not the kids name per the article.

its pretty clear you havent seen the video of him damn near falling over, needing a player to hold him up, and waving his arms like a drunk person.

they were down 30-7 and his leg was already clearly gimpy.

I'm sorry but keeping him in, having him pass once more, and then putting him back in b/c the 3rd string QB didnt have a helmet that didnt fit is horrid and shows a complete lack of regard for his players.

They would have had to have cared to find out if he had one first

This isnt a kid getting hit hard and being slow to get up. This is a kid getting rocked in the face and not being able to walk straight being put back into a game.

yeah. I thought Gardner was the one thing Michigan had going for them. Him and that WR. I guess he either got injured or sucked really bad for this dude to be playing. He looks terrible.

Just makes him look clueless. Like he has no role. Which he won't have pretty soon.

Hoke, an assistant coach, a trainer...someone should have seen that and should have given pause to that.

just because the kid doesn't keel over and lay down doesn't mean he's not concussed.

this is a failure on the whole staff, not just hoke. But he is the HC and has to answer for it.

Do you think Brady Hoke would intentionally risk a player's health if he thought he had a concussion? I just don't see Hoke as that kind of coach.

I always did wonder about the headset situation with him.
