Destiny jumped the gun. They should have had twice as much to this game before it was released. Destiny was launched two weeks ago and many people have already completed the game.
There is a difference between wanting to leave something open-ended so you can add stuff later and releasing what should be considered an unfinished product.
from what ive gathered about destiny: this

I know people hate when MMOs are compared to WoW, but it really is a basis of how MMOs should structure themselves.
I played WoW from the beginning until the start of Lich King. If I recall correctly, it took 3 months before people were even able to take down the first of the world's bosses, Onyxia. Compare 3 months to 2 weeks. In a few months, they had already released multiple other dungeons as well.
The design of the game gave Blizzard time to build. Destiny lacks that design.
I expect the amount of people playing will start to decrease heavily if they don't pick up the pace soon.

That is a little surprising.
I'll probably drop it as soon as something better comes around.

Thankfully I have a PS4 and not enough money to buy a Xbone.
Once Dragon Age comes out, I'm probably gonna be done with this game for good.

Bunch of damn kids in here. I'm 35, been playing since Atari. SMB3 blew my mind. The graphics and gameplay were like nothing I had seen before. I can fondly remember the SNES vs Genesis debates in 5th grade, now I don't really care too much about technical stuff I just want fun games. What is the ultimate goal, to have lifelike looking games? I don't want that, I don't want to talk to the games, I don't even want virtual reality. In some ways I've evolved with games, in some ways I haven't. Basically it just comes down to fun.

Zelda was the first game that blew my mind... You mean to tell me that I can save my game AND have more than one profile?

I think the only reason wow was setup that way was because they were charging you a monthly fee so it was in their best interest to make it take as long as possible to do anything. When the expansions come out every couple years people are finishing raids in a couple weeks and that is why blizz added in so much daily/rep grind. Destiny took a short story and added in a rep grind. After the first week it was out they added a raid after the second week they added the queen rep. I don't know if they can continue to add something every week, sure they cannot, but i enjoy what they have done so far

quote:You see, I don't consider this an addition though. What was actually added? Nothing.
the second week they added the queen rep
They give you bounties that are the same as previous bounties and the payoff for leveling up the queen's favor is insignificant. Emblems and class items do nothing. The rare weapons they give you are no different than any rare weapons you happen to get from the Cryptarch after giving him 50 blues.
Yea, there are legendaries you get from doing the queen's missions, but nothing was actually added to the game.
