Show me some case law that says I am absolutely wrong about this.
"Case law" for a UN treaty?

Obama is bound by law to immediately report to the UN Security Council.
No he is not. The UN asks us to report any activity that may fall under that section (not sure if this applies) and a fax would likely comply. Obama does not have to "report to" the UN, and there most certainly isn't a "law" which binds him as our President. Holy cow!

Obama's armed attack on Syria violates International Law because the UN Security Council hasn't provided the necessary permission.
Does anyone important recognize Syria as a legitimate nation right now?

I mean, that place is a total mess

As an Iraq war Vet, i really hope that this coalition of Arab nations stands committed to helping us take out ISIS. That in my opinion is the absolute and ONLY key to defeating these terrorist networks now and into the future. These Arab countries need to rise up and stand with us against the radical jihadists. Its their land that ISIS wants. It cant just be us. To our boys actively deployed to the region...trust your training, trust your brothers and lastly, do your job with absolute conviction. Kick some terrorist arse!!!

So, the guy who was against the war on terror is now starting his own war on terror? The guy who wanted us to spend millions on health care and not on a war is now making us pay for health care and a war?

He is weak on foreign policy. The countries he has bombed has served little purpose. He cowers to the biggest geo-political threat in the world in Russia and Putin, yet turns around and bombs a couple camel jockeys at the cost of a few hundred thousand a missile.

Barack is out of touch and inept. Keep your Bush comparisons to yourself. It's been 8 years of this buffoon Obama. It's his world now, his foreign policy problems.

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Obama needs your help again.
He's got us in a terrible fuss
Way down yonder in Damascus
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a shite,
Next stop is in Tikrit;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

To his credit, I think the US as a member state is "required" to seek authorization from the Security Council before using any military force.

Then again, (1) the Security Council has been a puppet for US and Russian foreign policy for years; (2) the UN Charter speaks in terms of force against states which I'm not convinced is the case here; and (3) we're immune from Security Council action due to our veto power.

So bomb away.

This is key, IMO. When more "moderate" Arab states feel threatened by terrorist groups, they will start to act. ISIS is scaring folks.

And the planned attack by Khorasan on America soil, that they're saying was in it's final stages of planning...could this meet the self-defense requirement by the UN? Not that I'm overly concerned about the UN. I'd like to know more about this planned attack. They must have been extremely concerned and it must have been something big.
