Did Syria give it's authorization to drop bombs on it's country?

Good point.

They gave conditional authorization and requested some coordination with Damascus. This is discussed in the article that I linked.

So what happens when some innocent Syrians get smacked by a JDAM? Seems to me Syria could legally fire some of those sweet SAM 5s in retaliation.

"Imminent attack" refers to something like when the missiles are already in mid flight. The term doesn't really apply to Obama's situation in Syria.

So In the example, Russia invades Canada and your explanation makes sense. At least to me.

So what country is invading Syria and Iraq? If ISIS isn't a country, then how does the UN Charter relate?

Under this clause of the UN Charter, Obama is obligated to go to the UN Security Council and request that they authorize "measures to maintain international peace and security."

Would any of the Resident Democrats please be good enough to notify us on this august board the moment that Obama goes to the UN Security Council with this request?

After all, Obama is obligated to do this under International Law, and, we would all consider Obama to be a War Criminal if he wages war in violation of International Law, right?

Obama's Syrian War has begun. War President!

Too bad he couldn't have just listened to Putin a year ago instead of drawing phoney redlines.

You were FINE with Obama's bombing because he's a Democrat like you. But for the past 11 years, you've considered Bush to be a war criminal.
Did I miss the part where ISIL agreed to UN sanctions and inspections? And was not attacking anyone?

I don't listen to Putin either. What did your hero have to say?

Saddam was not compliant with UN sanctioned inspections and he never stopped shooting at US aircraft involved in securing the No Fly Zone. So, your statement is completely inaccurate.

Be that as it may:

Now that you are aware of the fact that Obama, by International Law, is bound to go to the UN Security Council, will you have any criticism to offer Obama when he ignores this legal requirement?

He is not bound to go to the UN in order to defend an ally against invasion. And the fact that no one in the UN, including Syria, is objecting shows how ridiculous you're being. If he's violating the UN Charter seems like someone would bring it up (besides a Les Miles/Jennjngs apologist).

I foresee Harris winning SEC games and you calling lsu fans hypocrites for criticizing Jennings' loss. Alone has nothing to do with the other but it won't stop your tortured logic and ridiculous attempts to get a gotcha.

Sometimes enemies have common enemies:

Obama is bound by law to immediately report to the UN Security Council. The UNSC shall then have the authority and responsibility to take "such action as it deems necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and security."

Obama does not have "carte blanche" to continue to conduct armed attacks inside Syria's borders. He is bound by law to report to the UNSC and seek authorization from the UNSC.

Show me some case law that says I am absolutely wrong about this.

If you can't cite case law to show I'm wrong, then that means that Obama remains on questionable legal grounds and should follow Art 51s requirement to report to the UNSC and seek UNSC authorization for further armed attacks.

I don't know what you are talking about with regard to LSU football, but, that's just a good demonstration of how you are flailing about trying to land a haymaker.

You failed on all counts. I challenge you to find a post of mine where I apologized for Miles or Jennings. You really are delusional and a poor critical thinker.
