Well he can't do any worse than he did in his last attempt against Pettis. That was a terrible showing, and I thought he had quit on his career after that.

Cerrone should just stay healthy and keep training in case Pettis or Melendez gets injured, so he can fill-in.

Crazy stat I read the other day. Since Cowboy & Pettis fought in 2013:
-Cowboy is 6-1 with 4 finishes
-Pettis is 1-0

quote:

Khabib pulled out for the THIRD time
damn, I never realized he did that. I know he hurt his knee a while back and don't think he ever really planned on fighting until spring of 2015. Khabib is a bad match-up for anyone at 155.

Ya and Melendez also hasn't fought in like a year and that was against Diego Sanchez, his fight before that was a loss. Nobody fights in that damn division which is why Cowboy needs a shot. If he does have to fight again in December maybe just give him a scrub so he can make some $ and then give him the title shot.

Holy shite, rumors flying around about Conor McGregor moving up to LW and fighting Diego Sanchez in Mexico for UFC 180.

Wow!! Please happen

Lmao, how?

Diego is nothing more than a punching bag at this stage in his career. Had it not been for to terrible decisions, he'd be on a 5 fight losing streak.

That said, Dana won't risk McGregor losing. I don't see the fight happening.

I actually haven't seen the Irishman fight. But I hear he's really cocky. Been too busy with army stuff to watch mma like I used to.

no way. Like 480 stated, Conor knocks his head clean off.....then puts it on a stick and prances around doing an Aztec warrior dance

it's not a risk at all imo. Dustin was much more of a risk. Like you said, Diego is just a big punching bag. Can you imagine how riled up Conor would get all the Mexicans with his trash talk? He'd have their jimmies rustling around in his hand (no homo) like his own personal lucky charms.

Eta: looks like Dana is shooting down this rumor. But if there's one thing I have learned, it's never believe anything Dana fricking White has to say. I'd really love to see this fight go down.

I trust Dana but I think Conor may be working directly with Frank and Lorenzo now....he is THAT good!

Diego would have a pretty big size advantage. He gave the Best LW in the world IMO (Gilbert) all he could handle less than a year ago. I think y'all are buying into the hype a little too much.

I don't like that fight for McGregor, that's a trap and he's far too valuable further down the line with gold around his waist at 145.

I think Gilbert is overrated. He got dropped and nearly finished by a washed-up, punch drunk brawler. Pettis will destroy Melendez easily.

No way Pettis handles Gil's wrestling. I like Gil all day in that fight.

Ditto.

Especially since Pettis has only fought like twice in the last 4 years

That was a long time ago and Pettis has improved dramatically since then. Gilbert is old (32) and washed-up. As Conor would say, he's on a decline....simply going through the motions trying to maintain.
