Scantily-clad women will always be prominent in the spectacle of sport.
Sex is as American as shitty beer and guns, and some women actually enjoy admiration of their physique - even smart ones.

Immediate dismissal from the team if you get caught hanging out with the players.

Don't underestimate how scared the NFL is going to start running PC wise. They are image conscious as hell right now.
If I had to bet, I agree with you I don't think it will actually happen. But if it did, I wouldn't be surprised either.

It ain't cheating, if you don't get caught.

With the stranglehold that Benson and the Saints have on the State and NOLA, I'm sure he makes the ugly skanks that cheer for the Saints pay him.

I've always heard they have to sell things like calendars and pictures and they have quotas and if they don't meet their quotas, they get fired so a lot of them will have to spend money out of their own pocket to meet quotas and keep their jobs.
I've also heard that the teams don't pay for their hair or makeup and that they have to have it professionally done multiple times a week for appearances, team functions, games, etc. and that that comes out of their pocket as well...I wouldn't be surprised if being a cheerleader actually costs some of those girls money.

less than minimum wage. they had to sue to even get that, given all the crap they have to appear at.

keep in mind that NFL Mascots earn between $23,000 and $65,000 per year.
Mascotting isn't a bad short term gig. I was offered a half dozen free rides to college because I was our high school mascot. I turned them down because I was a dork and wanted to concentrate on school. I was talking with the Tennessee Titans mascot one time and he was making $50,000 right out of school. Granted there's only so far you can go in that career. It's a physically demanding job, but allows for tons of creativity and improv.

“We physically signed a contract saying we weren’t allowed to fraternize with the players,” says Melanie Brown, 25, a former San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks cheerleader (pictured above), who adds it’s much easier for a cheerleader to be sacked, so to speak, than a pro. “I heard [the guys] had to sign one, too, but if it’s between a cheerleader, who makes nothing, versus a player, who makes millions, who do you think will get fired?”
Brown, a one-time Pro Bowl cheerleader (one cheerleader from each of the 32 squads in the NFL is asked to cheer in this annual all-star game, meaning: she is very, very good) continues to say that when she started with the Chargers in 2009, her squad was minus one great cheerleader who didn’t obey the rules. “[The league] will find out. A girl on my team didn’t get asked back because she was hanging out with one of the players...and they weren’t even dating!”

They dont make shite. Some go on and get modelling jobs, or make money off of modelling for their calendars.

They make crap.
The NFL cheerleaders that's good friends with my brother and sister (she went to elementary school all the way to college with them) said she only did it because of all the parties she gets to go to, she was a part-time model for local magazines when she was in college so it got her more gigs, she always loved cheerleading, and she's a big football fan.
Issue with the last one is that she only catches bits and pieces, but she said it was all good. Great experience to watch games on the field

I went to school with a saintsation and I don't remember exactly what she said they got paid per game, but I do remember her saying that they made more selling calendars outside the stadium
Posted on 9/18/14 at 6:08 pm to Walt OReilly
I heard something like $150 to $300 a game.
Posted on 9/18/14 at 6:30 pm to Walt OReilly
They don't make shite. Most of them have "day" jobs. It's pretty much something you do because you really want to do it and you want to be able to say you are a pro cheerleader.
Posted on 9/18/14 at 6:34 pm to Walt OReilly
Close to nothing. It's more for the experience. I heard they have to eat the cost of the books/flyers that they sell outside before games if they don't sell them all.

I knew a girl who danced for the Hornets and he VooDoo. They made like $55 a game.
(voodoo- Hornets)
They made more from events and appearances.
They don't do it for the money.
