You are on a roll today. As Lsut81 said, you realize tax revenue is at an all time high, right?

So what are your feelings on the nearly 50% of Americans that pay 0 dollars in income tax?

He is making an argument for a flat tax, but I don't think he is intending to

Nay. A society that leeches off a small minority of producers isn't a healthy society at all. In fact.. It's one that's soon to end.

Then why do only some have to pay taxes, while other members of society escape the burden?

Are you are for equal taxation?

Ahhh yes, the battle cry of the liberal hipster who loves taxes but hates to pay them.

So are you saying 47% doesn't belong to society?

He's making an argument for a flat fee tax -- not flat rate tax... Something I'm a strong proponent of.

Take the budget, divide by population, there is your tax bill.

No no my argument is that those who would make millions off the labors of people is society have a responsibility to contribute more in taxation (Yes progressive taxation. The fact that the gov lets billions in tax dollars slip away by not taxing all the hidden monies puts a burden on society. We wouldn't have kids going hungry id the Cayman funds were taxed. How this could be done no clue. But when the gov rewards corps for shifting American jobs overseas or for example Burger King pulling bs to avoid taxes, society suffers. Got to go

They don't. They compensate their workers in a mutually agreed compensation. That is what they owe their workers and society. Nothing more.

What "hidden monies" are you talking about? Are you suggesting large corporations are hiding income?

Why would Cayman operations be taxed in the US? That's like saying people in NJ should pay income taxes to CA.

Ive never heard of government grants to export jobs. Link?

Really? You really think that if the govt had all this extra money, that they would be responsible enough to spend it on REAL issues?

Again, TAX REVENUES ARE HIGHER THAN THEY HAVE EVERY BEEN, yet the deficits continue and our national debt pushes 20 trillion dollars.

It's this bizarro-world thinking that has the federal government trillions and trillions of Dollars in debt. Let's look at the numbers:

Fiscal Year.............Receipts.........Outlays........Surplus/Deficit (-)
2000...................2,025,191........1,788,950..........236,241
2001...................1,991,082........1,862,846..........128,236
2002...................1,853,136........2,010,894.........-157,758
2003...................1,782,314........2,159,899.........-377,585
2004...................1,880,114........2,292,841.........-412,727
2005...................2,153,611........2,471,957.........-318,346
2006...................2,406,869........2,655,050.........-248181
2007...................2,567,985........2,728,686.........-160,171
2008...................2,523,991........2,982,544.........-458,553
2009...................2,104,989........3,517,677.......-1,412,688
2010...................2,162,706........3,457,079.......-1,294,373
2011...................2,303,466........3,603,059.......-1,299,593
2012...................2,450,164........3,537,127.......-1,086,963
2013...................2,775,103........3,454,605..........-679,502
2014 estimate....3,001,721........3,650,526..........-648,805

What we see are extremely historic highs in Revenues coupled with once-again increasing (and also-historically high) Outlays. When your Revenues are at an all-time high but you are still running large annual deficits, Revenues aren't the problem.

4,300,000,000/243,000,000(population 18+)=17.69.

Seems reasonable. But then again what about all the CPA's and Tax attorneys?

Also, your belief that our debt problem is due to not enough taxes instead of wasteful and unnecessary government spending is why I have a heavy disdain for the left.

The less money the government gets, the better. They waste a majority of what they take in and your solution is to blame the rich, go figure.
