It's a different breed of conservatism though. This militant, no bend ideology you see elsewhere simply does not pervade Colorado -- people are reasonable.

It's at the top of my list for places to move when my wife is done with school. She loves DC, but even mentioned last night that she would rather move to Denver than DC. I was in Denver last week and met a guy from the NOVA/DC area that just moved there last year. He said it isn't too hard to move there because most people who live there aren't from there.

uh...not really
the western half of CO tried to secede from the eastern half because they are pissed with the liberal Denver/Boulder running everything

Western Colorado is sparsely populated. Being such renders those areas much like every other sparsely populated area, no different than Iowa or Louisiana.

This describes them and myself perfectly... thats good news. Its just hard to tell people on the east coast your considering moving to Colorado without hearing all the puff puff pass jokes... its like people dont take you seroiusly. These guys have good jobs and are now actively searching for work out in CO.

Yeah, like, maybe they don't label huge diverse groups with simplistic characterizations that probably aren't that accurate.

Nothing of the sort was done. Every sect is viewed and judged on a sliding scale, and what I said is a representation of where the conservative base in Colorado falls as a group.
It's not some overly simplified statement meant to describe every single person, but rather the sum of the parts.

No clue on rent, but Denver is exponentially cheaper than DC in virtually every category.

There are pockets of enlightenment in Denver, Boulder and Ft. C but pretty much everywhere else on the front range is a conservative wasteland so they should have no problem.

No fricking way in the city of denver. 1bdrms are going for $800+, if not more. For something nice, you are dropping $1200+. Rents have been going up 10% a year for a while. 10 years ago, you could have had a 3 bdrm house for $1200, with a garage. now you would be looking at $1800.
Now if you are the burbs, you can find shite for a thousand that is decent.
CO is awesome. We love it. I will say that you friends will turn liberal if they move here though, almost everyone youngish does.

Guess depends on where you live, like I said when my sister was in Littleton she was working a 9 to 5 and traffic was pretty bad in the morning but she had a ways to go.
