- The Big East was probably the most exciting conference and the Thursday night matchups had big time BCS implications...and were incredible games

You're thinking of 2006 with this one.. Not 2007. The 2006 Big East was incredibly entertaining.

I approve of this thread

Oh, and wasn't 2007 the last football season to be played? There hasn't been any more games since then, right?

2007 was certainly my favorite year as an LSU student. Every home game was exciting.

Assraping top 10 VA Tech in our home opener

Beating South Carolina in a stiff dew with help from a TD run by our Kicker

The Florida and Auburn games were both instant classics. I think we had 6 4th down conversions against Florida and Auburn was a last second TD.

Arkansas was a letdown but it was still an exciting 3OT game with 98 points scored.

LSU was frustrating, but it was one of the greatest games I'd watched.

I remember wondering after that game was over if I'd ever see a better football game from start to finish

I'm kinda glad that the other side recognizes how great that game was too

I'll also add that Oregon was pretty awesome that year with Dennis Dixon. They probably win the title that year if he doesn't blow his knee out.

That's the greatest "what if" of that season. As much as I loved Mizzou's run to #1, I think Oregon would have won the title that year if Dixon remained healthy. They were peaking at the right time and they had a solid defense that year, unlike many of the teams in the past few years. They held USC to 17 points and a talented Michigan team to 7 points in Ann Arbor.

Man that season.

SC was 7-5 in 2005 in Spurrier's 1st year, 8-5 in the next beating Clemson and winning our first bowl since the 2001 season.

Start out 2007 6-1, including a win @UGA, beat a top 10 ranked UK team and get into the top 10. So as you can imagine Gamecock fans were pretty excited.

We go into Chapel Hill, up 21-0 early, then something happened at halftime. No one is sure what. We played like crap but held off for a 21-15 win, the next season we lost to Vandy, lost @UT in OT, and finished 6-6 with no bowl.
