The only study I've found was released by the NFL. Forgive me for not trusting in it

Did you read the entire thing? I agree it seems like this guy did his homework, but he even mentions the shortcomings of his work.

Of course, there are shortcomings to this analysis that might materially influence my conclusion. For one, I haven’t factored in the severity of each injury, which doesn’t appear on every play-by-play entry. It might be that injuries sustained by tired bodies are more likely to cause players to miss significant time, something Simmons seems to imply in his column referenced above. Also absent from the play-by-play data are the smaller, nagging injuries that may not require a stoppage in play but seriously hamper a player’s ability to perform in the ensuing weeks. These can be just as relevant to a team’s overall health, and it’s possible that these, too, occur more often to players on short rest.

I read that, too. But it appears to be the most comprehensive look into the subject, and the data isn't supportive of the position that Thursday night games result in more injuries.

Even if I were to agree with you that Thursday night games are more dangerous, I'm still faced with the question, why do I give a shite?

Correct, but I agree with Simmons about the severity potentially being an issue. 3 days can mean a lot to the stability of a joint

Thursday night games are underwhelming for the most part

I agree. But it's still NFL on a week night, which I love.

If NFL players do not feel that they are being adequately compensated for the additional risk they are subjecting their bodies to by playing on Thursday night, there is a very simple solution available to them.

As long as both teams are playing under similar circumstance (like neither having a bye the week before or both having a bye), i don't think you can really complain. It sucks for the players but it is what it is...i'm not gonna act like i didn't watch the Ravens and Steelers

This really pisses me off. The only way a team should play on Thursday is after a bye week. 2 games in 4-5 days is bullshite.

IIRC the Eagles played 3 games in 11 days and the Ravens 4 games in 18 days last season

i guess we should cancel the Thanksgiving games...

they've had Thursday NFL games off and on for years... between 1978 and 2001, the NFL had 47 Thursday games (not counting Thanksgiving)

yall need to quit acting like Thursday night NFL is new. It's not. It's only every week now, but teams only have one such game in the season for the most part.

The Cowboys and Lions have played 3 games in 11 days since the 60's.

I hate the Thurs games. The quality is absolutely terrible. There may not be more injuries but guys don't play if they have a minor injury that the extra few days could've helped them push through.

I wish they would have Tuesday night games. So a team would play on a Sunday then they would skip the next Sunday and play on Tuesday and then they would have 4 days instead of 3 to get ready for a game the following sunday
