You're high.

If you think the burger at WalkOns is ANYTHING like the burger at Flemings.. Portabellos.. Dearmans..

You're insane.

I'm sorry that you clearly think all burgers are made the same way.
Put all those Burgers out for 100 people who have no clue where they came from, and it will be pretty damn even which ones get picked.

No. Point is still the exact same.

Don't you people ever get sick of borrowing the same argument that sounds catchy to you, but actually holds no weight?

Every time someone doesn't like something, the go-to remark from you WalkOns lovers is "WELL I MEAN, I'M NOT LOOKING FOR 5 STAR FOOD"

.... ?

Since when did anyone say they're searching for that.

Chelsea's isn't 5-star. Same price range as WalkOns. WORLDS better. In-house baked bread, sauces from scratch, etc.

Give up the 5-star line.

The Burgers are worlds better? Yes their dishes are better then walk-ons. But what makes the burgers better?

Huh?

I never said anything about their burger.

But I can name 10+ burgers in the city better than WalkOns. I don't really see why people would go anywhere but Fleming's happy hour for burgers anyway, but that's another thread.

The seared ahi tuna salad is VERY good, shockingly well done for a sports bar-they make a wrap version of it but it isn't nearly as good. Their cheese logs are also great as an app & the angels on horseback. Burgers are not bad & a good choice. They have a blackjack (or something like that) chicken sandwich that is alright but it's ends up being a big sloppy mess in the end. Their French fries are good. You can find something there worth eating.

I hate their marinara. It's chunkier than chunky salsa from a jar, so when you dip the stick, nothing actually sticks to it.

No, the point is that you have to be an incredibly shallow person the knock food that is decent and geared towards a certain atmosphere while having to cherry-pick examples of other places where the food may be slightly better. The food is not great but it is not bad and to say "literally nothing is good" or w/e the 2nd post of this thread was is asinine and makes you and whoever else backs that statement look foolish.

Yes, I am one of those people that realize the burgers at most restaurant taste the damn same as well as a chicken sandwich or club taste the same. I dont have a stick shoved so far up my foody arse that I think a place has to be not popular or mainstream to be decent. Like I said there specialty dishes suck, but in a blind taste test, yall wouldnt be able to pick their burgers or sandwiches apart from any other restaurant

There is no use to argue anymore but IMHO I dont think people really beleive this about their Burgers. I think Walk-ons sucked with the specialty dishes, so it became the cool thing to say they suck. So now it has morphed to people saying everything on their menu is awful, their burgers are shite, their tap water is the worst in the city, and their Dr. Pepper isnt any good either

Did you not see me post what I order there? Go defend your shite food to someone else. I am not above eating there when I'm subjected to it.

But I will not say it's anywhere near the top anything as far as casual restaurants in the city go.

Actually..

In the beginning when everyone hated WalkOns, I never really saw an issue. Granted, I was much younger and not really into cooking/food like I am now. But it didn't bother me.

Then it got outrageous. $10 for an appetizer that has THREE (no I'm not joking) shrimp... My boyfriend spent $26 on two beers and a single mixed drink.. the cheese sticks were the worst I ever had (not melted, chopped tomatoes as "marinara")..

I have no reason to justify being angry at WalkOns and lying, or trying to "be cool". It's simply a place with food that's not very good, and it's nothing to walk out with a $70 tab just my SO and I.

What does this mean?

It's a restaurant. A restaurant that has a lot of TVs and is close to campus, but a restaurant. Sit down, hostess stand, full service.. restaurant.

If we were chatting about the food at an actual bar where there is only food in order to feed drunks, that would be one thing. But WalkOns is a restaurant.

Coursey didn't close, they saw the opportunity to make it even better by moving to a better location. Also, remember how many people said that Walk-On's would never make it in Laffy? Well that place is literally printing money. I never said it was 5* food, but the food isn't too shabby either. So yea, you saying NOTHING is good, is quite far fetched. Sorry but you don't print the money that those guys are doing for as long as they have, by having shite food.

come on man. there are plenty of average restaurants that make shite tons of money. it doesn't make it a good place to go eat.

If you walk out with a $70 from walk-ons then you ordered like an idiot(no offense)
