Me too. I first saw the crowes in 94 or 95 and have seen them over 30 times.
Honestly, at this point in their careers i much prefer crb.

Been a fan from day one but didn't become die hard until Southern Musical and High as the Moon tour. That's the one that sold me and let me know they were legit and not the MTV hard to handle schtick.
What's kind of funny is now they're labeled or associated as a "jam" band. I know early on they didn't have that appeal probably b/c of the MTV exposure. But I suppose the younger fans view them as that. which isn't necessarily bad but I remember some of the first few shows I saw, most fans had that pot smoking, busch beer drinking, deep from the woods, southern hard rocker rebel vibe and frick the hippie shite type fans. It seemed they had more Lynard Skynard types than Widespread. I knwo at State, not many Widespread or phish fans were listening to Black Crowes. It seemed to change around 2000 though. Or at least that's my viewpoint.

I just looked at their recent shows and they play the same setlist every night.

and?
It supports your statement that you think it is funny that they are labeled a jam band.

Black Crowes or CRB?
CRB.
Maybe they still improv a lot within a structured set list each night. I've never seen them so I have no idea.

They jammed a lot when I saw them at Tips...it's got a GD sound. Very mellow and spacey type jams. Not a lot of tension an release, but not mindless noodling.
I think they are promoting a new album, so they might be playing all those songs. I'll report back my findings tonight

They literally have 1 (maybe 2?) album out, so of course their set lists arent as varied. But they stretch everything out, for example, they played 10 songs in festy set at phases of the moon. 4 songs were over 10 minutes each and none of the songs were less than 7 in an hour and a half set.

It's billed as an Evening with Chris Robinson Brotherhood. So I think it's just them alone, probably playing two sets, maybe

they have about 2-3 ep albums out they play off of. I havent' seen CRB live but on youtube, they've played some New Earth Mud and covers along with CRB material.
They like the low key settings/large beer hall places. They're going to be over here in houston tomorrow. I'd try to make it but it's the wife's bday stuff happening. Like always it seems.
Why I've always dug the crowes or their projects.

When I first heard Tulsa Yesterday I thought it was a Dark Star cover. Definitely a Dead feel to their tunes.
I'm all in on CRB
