1. you increase your own value, which gets you girls easier while getting a higher range of girls
2. you get to spend your precious personal resources (esp time) in much more efficient and preferable ways
people underrate the shite out of #1. it's an ironic twist, and a big issue with guys who find themselves in the friend zone

I can get on board with it being a more rational choice. I just think comparing the 2 is comparing apples to oranges.
