No one ever does. I've been using the same name online since 28k modems and AIM, and I'm not sure if anyone has ever gotten my name without my having to correct them at least once

This might be one of the dumbest analogies I've ever seen.
If you need a lawyer, you're hiring that person to perform a specific task. Just like hiring a mechanic or plumber or electrician or accountant or doctor. Those jobs require a trained professional.
Elected officials aren't supposed to be professionals. They're supposed to be ordinary citizens from all walks of life.
Public office is also the one job where experience makes you worse instead of better. Landrieu has been in the Beltway bubble for almost 20 years. She has no clue what the real world is like. She's utterly unqualified to make decisions that affect the lives of her constituents.
Cassidy was a practicing physician until a few years ago so at least he understands one aspect of life quite well (healthcare, an important one). There are things he doesn't know but that will happen no matter who's in the seat.
