That's why I love Verne lol. I'm not like 99% of other fans. I don't care what the announcers are saying, and they don't annoy me because they're more like background noise. I laugh when they say something stupid, but it's not like they ruin the experience for me.

never understood the hate for Danielson. The guy is the best color analyst in the game. He sees everything immediately - which I guess comes from his years as an NFL QB. He gives us actual analysis, unlike most other color commentators who just repeat in words what they see on the screen.
How can you not like Verne? True, he makes some mistakes, but who cares?

I don't mind them, there are a lot worse announcers and "experts" out there. GD is about as good as they come, very knowledgeable and doesn't tend to show favoritism. VL tends to hate on LSU more than others, but then again it may be my perception. He has been around a long time, and his age is starting to show, i.e. our very own JH on the radio side...
But we haven't been chosen to be on CBS yet, thank God...I hate 230 games in Tiger Stadium...too hot, too early, and the crowd doesn't seem to get into it as much due to lack of alcohol poisoning...

I really like Danielson, but Verne seems to be getting senile. He doesn't seem as up on the game as others (especially Gary), and seems like he has strings pulling him more than most. It also seems to me that the same ranters hating this duo harangue Hawthorne for his radio analysis. It could be that age is catching up on these folks and they are beginning to fade. As for me--I give these guys some grace...

I hate everything about those Nick Saban cum guzzling frickwads.
Gary is, on his best day, a mediocre analyst, but is typically piss poor or Captain-fricking-Obvious and rarely has a kind word about LSU.
Verne is so senile he can't even get the players right. It used to be funny but now it's just annoying.
I sincerely hope we never have to listen to them announce a LSU game ever again, but I know that it will happen sooner or later. It doesn't help that Mr. fricking Red Hat stands on the field for 10 minutes a pop every time CBS broadcasts a LSU game.

I feel about Verne how I feel about most tv PBP guys, he's useless and he brings nothing to the broadcast.
Leave the blow-by-blow to the radio broadcasters and give me two color commentary guys who actually have something interesting to say.
Can you imagine how badass it would be to have Gary and Jesse Palmer on the same broadcast?

My hatred for them has bled into everything that CBS does. I just can't even stand the network now. I looked up their show list and I can honestly say that I do not watch a single show they broadcast. Ever. Though back in college I used to enjoy the very rare Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson because that man is funny as frick. I like them both. Other than Finebaum and the woman who does play-by-play on some college games, no one really bothers me. Lundquist and Danielson are, at least to me, one of the better teams.
