This. They are literally all arse hats, and if I were to start a society, I might want to ask the contractor to join me. He's been spot on since the first night debacle.

ETA: Meaning I would only ask him. The rest of these people can get the frick out.

From what I have heard about Mulaney that show ain't lasting long either.

Same, we were just talking about that here

FWIW Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell both beat Utopia in ratings at my station last week

I think the cast is the primary reason for its demise. I thought it was a great premise but after watching the premier I hated everyone and didn't watch the following episodes

Horrible casting. The show sucks.

See if you can find old episodes of "The Colony". Aired on Discovery i think, not a Utopia but sorta similar. A group of people each with special skills have to build a new society after an "Apocalypse". Amazing what they were able to do with the limited resources.

Agree.... Watched the premiere and every single one of the people is batshit crazy

Yep, I actually told my wife that I didn't want to watch all the stupid drama bullshite. I was looking forward to seeing a bunch of boring people actually able to get along and work together to see what kind of cool shite they could accomplish. Instead it's a bunch of idiots acting like fricking idiots and getting nothing done (based on only watching the season premiere) I hated damn near every person that I saw on that show.

from the previews I've seen of Mulaney it seemed like a terrible parody of a 90s sitcom

I think audiences like a certain level of crazy. The Real World always had 1 or 2 trouble makers. But Utopia takes it to a level that's uncomfortable to watch.

With no organized activities or competitions, watching that show is like hanging out with all the people from your hometown that you try to avoid.

When is it even on? Scheduling seems so random.

I guess it's not quite as thought provoking as great shows that are insanely original like Big Brother.

The Colony was pretty good. Second season was filmed in Chalmette, LA.
