They should have been banned a long time ago.

How is this a valid argument consider the South used conscription?

I looked it up, in 2001 the current flag prevailed in a vote by carrying 64% of the vote

So 64% of your state is stupid? Cool.
So tell us how you feel about the Black Panther flag. This should be interesting.

I'd also like to know how the people against it expect the SEC to force a school in the state of MS to remove the flag from fans/campus? It's their state sanctioned flag and it flies on every campus (Public at least, never been to a private campus here). It flies over the capital and is in every court room in the state. Good luck with that.

See, nothing racist about it. It's just one more example of our long history of sending young underprivileged men to die protecting the interests of the wealthy.

However, it cannot be denied that the resurgent use of the battle flag in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s in various state flags or official political settings was due to the rise of activism against segregation and other Civil Rights deprivations. As a result, the battle flag became a symbol of racism to most in this country.

They do. It is annoying.
If you're about the history and heritage part of it, fly the Stars and Bars. Leave the Battle Flag in the closet.
Better yet, fly an American Revolution flag. They were better.

Pretty sure LSU has already said they don't want them on display at the games.
Yes, but they also said there's nothing they can do to stop folks from flying them. Something to do with a thing called the Constitution. Whatever that is...
I have an LSU confederate flag in my apartment. I think it's a cool gimmick. I couldn't care less if it offends people. A few friends have come over and given it a wtf double take.
Have one of these too First flown over BR in 1810

To me the Confederate flag is offensive to
many people. With good reason. However, the flag
also represents the south. The history of the south and the good and bad things they did. That flag doesn't just represent the wealthy 1% planter class. But, the majority poor white peasant and black slave class (there were many) that fought for their homeland during the Civil War or War of Northern Aggression. To some who look for every reason to step on the south, they'll use the flag. Today, the ones who use it for hate are typically northern skin head guys.
