@Cle: 11 carries 80 yards (7.5ypc) 1TD, 3 receptions 21 yards - didn't get many carries

Brees' passing attempts:
29/42 (69.0%) 7.9y/a
27/40 (67.5%) 5.9y/a

Team:
28 total carries @ATL
27 total carries @Cle

I wonder why people are pissed.

Boom.

Payton is partially to blame. Our defense cannot hold its own right now. Running the ball, especially with Ingram in the zone, is paramount to controlling the time of possession and keeping the defense off the field...it will also limit the opportunities Drew has for an ill advised throw.

This season has been a total team loss both games.

These two losses are total team losses that equally sit on everyone from the players (except special teams and RBs) up to the coaches.
which, imo, makes it even more infuriating/disappointing.

naw

when he's actually calling plays, he gets way too pass-happy. we see that and it's frustrating to watch

this is one of those "he knows 10000x more about football than [insert person]" situations that doesn't shield him from criticism

playcalling is an art, not a science (yet). in those terms, payton vacillates between van gogh and 2nd grade finger painting

This is a very strong analogy. An upvote cometh your way, good sir.

Chunkin it to graham was way more productive

I'm disappointed in Drews timeouts and clock management more than anything. They still haven't fixed the length of time to get plays in which to me is partly on him for not addressing it with CSP/Carmichael from last year when it happened a ton.

That nonsense is closer to the Aaron Brooks days than it is to Brady/Manning/Rodgers/Wilson. No way Manning or Brady would still be allowing these issues rolling over into a new season.

It looks to me like too much is being put on drew and he's frustrated

Payton needs to pound Ingram and history suggests he will

Payton may have an ego but he's proven to be a reasonable person and identifies mistakes and corrects them even when they're his

Criticizing Payton's play calling is nothing new on this board. Especially when it come to end of the game or ignoring the run.

Well there won't be any more pounding of Ingram for a month.
There are multiple reasons for both losses and for the next week everyone will hear about "saints cant play on the road" and that is what frustrates people.
There are things that need to be cleaned up but certainly CB play, specifically Robinson, and missed tackles. Still a lot of games to play. Panic mode should set in if the team is 1-4 going into the bye week.
