How about Payton getting all up in Ryan's fat arse grill?

that's what happens with him, historically. he wrecks shop in year 1 and then it tails off to mediocrity and a lot of blown late games

i mean why he was let go by teh cowboys was one thing, but that wasn't his first DC stop

I just had flashes of Gary Crowton.

Yep.

11.6%

Saints realistically need to win every remaining game except one (to go 13-3) for the #1 seed.

Road playoff teams are littered with past thoughts of "Man if only we had made that last second FG" or "Damn dude, if we had iced that game when we had the chance, we'd be playing at home".

The Saints needed to take care of business on the road early to put them on an easy track for home field. They not only didn't get it done, they failed miserably.

its ridiculous b/c Payton just called the worst game in his career - arguably in recent NFL history.

And Ryan's side only gave up 19 points despite having bad field position for most of the day.

When you look at the stats and the way that Ingram abused that Cleveland defense, we should have had a field day and won by 20+ points. The fact that it was even close (let alone us losing) is astonishing. If people can't grasp this I fear that there's no hope.

I'm not sure how you can say two teams that simply outplayed and outcoached the Saints are inferior.

It's coming from Payton's failure to recognize that our best skillset is the running game. We had NE, CAR, ATL, and CLE in the palm of our hands. We averaged over 5 YPC in every single one of those games yet Payton continued to abandon the run.

I'm praying someone on his staff or the front office will maybe just mention this to him in passing. He needs to do some soul searching. Crossfit is fricking with his mind.

Coaching is more important in football than in any other sport.

The Saints have the talent to be a 13-3 team. The Saints should be 2-0 right now. Coaching let us down in 2011, last year, and so far this year.

But he says it himself! He said it prior to 2011 season, he said it coming back from 2012 that he witnessed it firsthand watching on TV, and he said it again during last season (playoffs) and prior to this season.

He actually executed a great run game twice last year - at Chicago and at Philly in the playoffs.

That Philly game had me hoping that he'd turned a corner.

at this point we need a shock collar programmed to give payton a jolt anytime he has 3 passes in a row, or anytime we have 3 more total passes than rushes.

Hyperbole much? Look everyone is shitting on Payton for his play calling but it's his play calling that's helped make us the best offense in the nfl since he took over. Which has also made us a contender pretty much every season. Maybe we do need to transition to the run more but it's probably not easy to just flip that switch when you've had such a long run of success doing it with a pass first philosophy

Payton should have locked on Drew...

Last week Drew gave Graham an ear full for not trying to catch a ball thrown at his feet...at the LOS when he was double covered over the top...

WHO THE F@#$ are you Drew!

You have just as much say as anyone around here...if you werent so worried about stat padding you would have audibled yourself into a running play(go with what works right) in order to better the TEAM

That game also saved us from giving Rob Ryan another opportunity to blow and thank god because Keenan Lewis was down and we had two scrub corners and Foles was downright raping them.

I think yes. Not because of the record in itself though. We just don't look like a Super Bowl team at all.
