Stray Cats should be higher on the list IMO

It was my go-to late late spot for several years. Ol' Scott is curmudgeonly as they come.

had a soft spot for that place. it was a shite hole but it was a huge bar with lots of seating areas. two pool rooms and other areas for darts. My band used to play there all the time. it was filled with trashy 40+ hard living crowd. RIP

you probably used to chill @ T.S. Station too huh baw?

please tell me Maurice's is still around. that place was like a sanctuary for me. like a dim ski lodge on the inside. classy clientele, amazing juke box full of depech mode, peter gabriel, etc... very nice couches. no young punks.

I went to Maurice's most recently probably a year ago. I would imagine it's still there; I'm pretty sure it's been a front for the mob for at least 2 decades. And yeah last time I was there they still had that same old jukebox they've had forever.

That's exactly what I thought. we went a long time ago and i haven't been back, but i too have heard the mob and cocaine rumors. with strays and vintage (and noble...) i'm pretty much covered for regular hangouts, so i doubt i'd go back. but who knows...maybe it's actually a time traveler bar, out of sync with normal space time. that would explain the decor, jukebox, and beehive hairdo bartenders...

I went there a month ago. The old lady said it was for sale. Had to restrain myself from spitting out my gin when she told me the price. Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars. "It's a big lot" she reasoned.

Many close to the couple described the two as a match set. Now with Godley gone and Colby nowhere to be found, the positivity of that match now hangs in the balance.
WTF is that supposed to mean?

Maurice's is easily my go-to place when I'm back home, though Noble Savage was a close #2. Like someone else said, it drew a clientele that wouldn't go to the Phoenix Underground and its ilk. Really crazy story.

At least Trudy is still kicking it off Youree next to the Shammy Wash.

At least no one will touch it for that asking price.

Damn....that was one of Shreveport's few good spots.

Other than restaurants, I can't imagine any decent Shreveport bars. Spare me from The Cub shite.

Oddly enough, Shreveport is more of a club scene and not bars. Weird since the city is so small but it's what they do. No one even goes out until 10pm there.

Back in my day it was a perfect balance of blues bars and live music places and clubs. You are right though...we never left the house until 10 to go out.

Annoying as frick. On a Saturday, I wanna have a beer at noon be drunk by 4 asleep by 11.

But I lived in bossier city for 27 years and it's like a fricking mind game up there. Even I was fooled about day time drinking. Superior is about the only place in town you can go at 5pm to find a good party.
