Article says he worked there, sure he was the owner?

He owned it until the gun charge, when he "sold" it to the victim because he couldn't own a bar anymore. Apparently it didn't keep him from owning a gun. Sad story.

My buddy was in the restroom with Chef and the guy he was pissed at when he shot the hole in the floor. We didn't go back too often after that.

Chef was creative... I am sure the style will change.. but it would be nice if the place didnt lose its identity and quality of menu.

So where does a guy like Chef flee to? Strikes me as the kind of guy that may never be seen again.

best nachos in the state, the french onion soup, the slaw...all amazing. It was also the first and only place I've ever gotten to have a kangaroo steak, which I enjoyed. I'll miss it for the food, the music, but also because it was for adults. generally, you didn't have any young morons or phoenix underground types, affliction douches, shite like that. didn't have to worry about some punk wanting to fight because you looked wrong at his shoes or whatever. hopefully someone who's not a drunk lunatic can be able to continue the tavern experience in shreveport, a type of place we really don't have much of.

I thought once you made it to Mexico you were home free?

Glad they caught this dickhead though.

Shreveport Times, for fricking once, has a decent article of the establishment's and his storied past: LINK

Goes to show how much things have changed over just the past 10 years, since 4 is condemned, 6 is a laundromat, and 7 is torn down as well.

Camelot Lounge

had a soft spot for that place. it was a shite hole but it was a huge bar with lots of seating areas. two pool rooms and other areas for darts. My band used to play there all the time. it was filled with trashy 40+ hard living crowd. RIP
